Four weeks until my departure and trip preparations are in full swing!
Immunizations administered, plane tickets bought, I've figured out where I'll be staying most of the time (leaving some room for who knows what), it seems the only thing in my way is graduation!
I plan on using this blog to keep you, my friends and family, updated on my adventures this summer. Just to review, I will be spending 3 weeks in June at Kagando Hospital and Rural Development Center (KARUDEC) in the Kasese district of Uganda, helping the hospital/vocational school set up a computer lab and develop their IT and energy issues. My involvement is through AHEAD Energy Corporation, a non-profit started in the Chemical Engineering department at the University of Rochester, working on the development of energy systems in Africa.
From there, I will be heading to Beijing to meet up with my friend Icy, who transferred to the UofR ECE track sophomore year and has been a good friend since, and then at some point to Shanghai, where my friend Bennett is living and the World Expo will be taking place. There will of course be many steps along the way, and I will do my best to keep the posts coming, so check back now and then to see whats been goin on.
